Mobile App
Settings
The Settings screen gives you control over how the SiteView mobile app behaves β from choosing your position source and display theme to managing offline data, reviewing sync status, and accessing your account.

Position Source
Choose where the app gets its location data:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Phone GPS | Uses your device's built-in GNSS receiver. Accuracy of 3-10 metres in open conditions. No additional hardware required |
| RTK Receiver | Uses a connected Bluetooth RTK GNSS receiver. Centimetre-level accuracy when receiving NTRIP corrections and achieving a Fixed solution |
When set to RTK Receiver, the app uses the Bluetooth receiver's position for all map display and point capture. If the receiver is not connected, the app falls back to phone GPS and shows a notification.

π‘ Tip
Switch to Phone GPS when you do not have your RTK receiver with you or when centimetre accuracy is not needed. This avoids connection prompts and uses the phone's built-in receiver directly.
See RTK Bluetooth Setup for details on connecting and configuring a receiver.
Theme
The app supports both light and dark display modes:
- Light β standard light background with dark text, suitable for outdoor use in bright conditions
- Dark β dark background with light text, reducing glare in low-light conditions and saving battery on OLED screens
Your theme preference is persisted locally and applied each time you open the app. The setting is independent of your device's system theme β you can use dark mode in the app even if your phone is set to light mode, and vice versa.
Sync Controls
The sync section shows the current state of data synchronisation between the app and the server:
Sync Status
A summary showing:
- Last sync time β when the app last successfully synced with the server
- Pending items β how many captured points and measurements are waiting to be uploaded
- Status β whether the app is currently syncing, idle, or offline
Manual Sync
Tap Sync Now to trigger an immediate sync. This is useful when you want to ensure all data is uploaded before leaving a site or when you have just regained connectivity and want to push pending items immediately.
Failed Items List
If any items have failed to sync, they appear in a dedicated list. Each failed item shows:
- The item type (point or measurement)
- The site it belongs to
- The reason for failure
- A Retry button to attempt the upload again
You can also tap Retry All to attempt syncing all failed items at once.

βΉοΈ Did you know?
Most sync failures are caused by brief connectivity interruptions and resolve on the next automatic retry. Persistent failures may indicate a server issue β check your connection and try again later.
Cache Management
The cache section shows how much storage the app is using and provides controls to manage it:
Tile Cache
- Cache size β the total storage used by cached map tiles (base map and orthophoto tiles)
- Clear cache β removes all cached tiles from the device
After clearing the tile cache, you will need to re-download tiles for offline use. Tiles are also re-cached automatically as you browse the map with an internet connection.
Local Database
- Database size β the total storage used by the local SQLite database (sites, points, measurements)
- Clear synced data β removes locally stored items that have already been synced to the server, freeing storage without losing any data

β οΈ Watch out!
Clearing the tile cache removes all downloaded offline maps. If you are about to head to a site with limited connectivity, do not clear the cache until you have returned and synced. Re-download tiles before your next offline visit.
Account
The account section displays:
- Your name β as registered on your Pasco account
- Email address β the email associated with your account
- Organisation β your primary organisation (if set)
Log Out
Tap Log Out to sign out of the app. This clears your session and returns you to the login screen. Locally stored data (cached tiles and pending measurements) is preserved on the device β if you sign back in with the same account, your pending items will resume syncing.

βΉοΈ Did you know?
Logging out does not delete your offline data. If you have pending measurements that have not yet synced, they remain on the device and will upload when you sign back in and regain connectivity.
App Version & Web App Links
The app version number is displayed at the bottom of the Settings screen. Check Google Play or the App Store for updates to benefit from the latest features and fixes.
The Settings screen also includes links to the SiteView web app at siteview.pasco.cloud. Use the mobile app for field work β point capture, RTK positioning, distance measurements, and offline access. Use the web app for detailed analysis β processing drone surveys, overlaying designs, running advanced measurements, and generating reports.

π‘ Tip
Points and measurements captured on the mobile app sync to the web app automatically. Capture data in the field on your phone, then review and analyse it in detail on the web when you return to the office.
