ℹ️ Did you know?

The mobile app uses the same account as the web app at app.pasco.cloud. Your email, password, projects, reports, organisations, and all your data are shared across both platforms. There is no separate registration for mobile.

System Requirements

PlatformMinimum VersionRecommendedNotes
Android6.0 (API 23)Android 10+Available on Google Play Store
iOS15.0iOS 16+Available on the App Store

The app is designed to run well on both current flagship devices and older models that meet the minimum version requirements. It is lightweight and built for construction sites where device capabilities may vary — you do not need the latest phone to use it effectively.

Required Permissions

During setup and use, the app will request the following permissions:

  • Camera — for capturing photos in reports and issue attachments
  • Location — for GPS capture in reports and issues
  • Notifications — for push notifications (approval requests, assignments, status changes)
  • Storage — for saving and uploading photos

You can grant these permissions when prompted, or configure them later in your device settings. The app works without all permissions, but some features (like GPS capture or photo attachments) require their respective permissions.

Logging In

The mobile app uses the same credentials as the web application. There is no separate mobile account.

  1. Open the Pasco Cloud app after installing.
  2. Enter your email address and password — the same credentials you use on the web app.
  3. Tap Login.
  4. If this is your first time, you will see a short welcome walkthrough — four slides introducing the key features, guided by the Ginger Bear mascot.
  5. After the walkthrough, you land on the dashboard and you are ready to go.

⚠️ Watch out!

You need an active internet connection to log in. The app must verify your credentials with the server and download your initial data. Make sure you have Wi-Fi or mobile data available when you first open the app.

If you do not have a Pasco Cloud account yet, create one on the web app first at app.pasco.cloud — see Creating Your Account.

Initial Data Sync

When you log in for the first time, the app downloads the data you need to work:

  • Your projects — names, details, and team members
  • Your organisations — organisation details and memberships
  • Available templates — templates shared with you, ready for creating reports
  • Recent reports — your draft and submitted reports
  • Open issues and tasks — items assigned to you or shared with you
  • Notifications — any unread notifications waiting for you

This initial sync typically takes a few seconds on a good connection. Once complete, the app caches this data locally so subsequent launches are fast — even on slower connections.

💡 Tip

Do your first login on a strong Wi-Fi connection. This ensures the initial data sync completes quickly and you have everything cached before heading to site. After the first sync, the app works well on mobile data.

The Welcome Walkthrough

First-time users see a short onboarding walkthrough that introduces the app's key features across four slides:

  1. Reports — create and submit reports from your phone with camera and signature capture
  2. Issues — log issues with photos and GPS coordinates directly from site
  3. Tasks — manage your task list and track progress on the go
  4. Notifications — stay informed with push notifications for approvals and assignments

You can swipe through the slides at your own pace. The walkthrough only appears once — after that, you go straight to the dashboard on login.

The Mobile Dashboard

After login, you land on the dashboard — your home screen showing an overview of your work:

  • Stat cards — counts for your reports, issues, and tasks
  • Recent activity — your most recent items across all categories
  • Unread notifications — a count of notifications waiting for your attention
  • Announcement banner — platform-wide messages from the Pasco team (matching the web app)

The dashboard is your starting point. From here, use the navigation drawer (swipe from the left edge or tap the menu icon) to access all sections of the app — projects, organisations, reports, issues, tasks, templates, notifications, and settings.

Mobile vs Web: What to Use Where

The mobile app and web app are two views of the same platform. Your data syncs automatically — a report started on mobile appears on the web, and vice versa.

Use mobile for field work:

  • Capturing photos of defects, progress, or conditions
  • Logging issues with GPS coordinates on-site
  • Filling in inspection reports with camera and signature
  • Quick approvals from push notifications
  • Checking task status and updating progress

Use the web for office work:

  • Building and editing templates
  • Detailed report review on a larger screen
  • Administrative tasks (user management, organisation settings)
  • Kanban board for task planning
  • Contract management

💡 Tip

Many construction professionals use both platforms daily — the web app at the office in the morning to review and plan, then the mobile app on-site during the day to capture and report. They complement each other naturally.

Troubleshooting

  • "Invalid credentials" error — double-check that you are using the same email and password as the web app. If you have forgotten your password, reset it at app.pasco.cloud using the "Forgot Password" link.
  • App not loading after login — ensure you have an active internet connection. The app needs connectivity to load your data on first login.
  • Slow initial sync — this is normal on slower connections. Wait for the sync to complete before navigating. Subsequent launches will be much faster.
  • Push notifications not appearing — check that notification permissions are granted in your device settings. See Push Notifications for more details.
  • Camera or GPS not working — verify that the relevant permissions are granted in your device settings under the Pasco Cloud app.
