Organisations Overview
In construction, work is structured around companies. Every project involves multiple organisations — a principal, a head contractor, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers — each with their own teams, responsibilities, and paperwork. Pasco Cloud reflects this reality by putting organisations at the centre of how people, projects, and documents are connected.

What Is an Organisation?
An organisation in Pasco Cloud represents a company, business, or entity. It is the container for your team — every user who works for or with that company becomes a member of the organisation.
Organisations have:
- Company details — name, description, industry type, website, phone, email
- Business identifier — ABN (Australia) or NZBN (New Zealand) for verification
- Registered address — the legal/postal address for the entity
- Office locations — physical offices, branches, depots, and site offices with contacts
- Members — the people who belong to the organisation, each with a role
- Verification status — whether the organisation has been verified as a legitimate entity
- Avatar/logo — a company logo displayed throughout the platform

ℹ️ Did you know?
You can belong to multiple organisations. A site supervisor might be a member of their employer's organisation and also have visibility into a client's organisation. Pasco Cloud handles this naturally — your memberships determine what you can see and do across the platform.
Why Organisations Matter
Organisations serve several important purposes in Pasco Cloud:
Team Structure
Every user on the platform belongs to at least one organisation. This determines their team context — who they work with, what projects they can access, and how their reports and documents are attributed.
Project Involvement
Construction projects involve multiple companies. Pasco Cloud uses project-organisation relationships to record which organisations are involved in each project and what role they play (head contractor, subcontractor, consultant, etc.). This is how the platform knows which company a report belongs to.
Document Control
One verified organisation per project can be designated as the document admin — the entity that controls document numbering and template context. This reflects how document control works on real construction projects.
Sharing and Visibility
When an organisation is linked to a project, a linked group is automatically created for that relationship. These linked groups are used throughout the sharing and visibility model to control who can see templates, reports, issues, and tasks.

Verified vs Unverified Organisations
When you first create an organisation, it starts as unverified. This means it exists on the platform but has not been confirmed as a legitimate registered entity.
To unlock the full capabilities of your organisation — including adding members, creating groups, and being set as a document admin on projects — you need to request verification. A platform administrator reviews your request and approves or rejects it.
Verified organisations display a green Verified badge throughout the platform. This builds trust when you are working with other companies on shared projects.

💡 Tip
Request verification early — ideally right after creating your organisation. It is a quick process and unlocks important features like adding team members and being assigned as the document admin on projects.
